What brought you to CSN?
I first learned about The Cure Starts Now while working as a neuro-oncology research nurse at a children’s hospital in Ohio. I remember being very impressed that a patient- and family-led organization like The CSN was making a meaningful impact, and funding pediatric neuro-oncology clinical trials so effectively.

A few years later, I was working in Clinical Research Operations for a pediatric neuro-oncology clinical trial consortium and felt settled in my path. But when the consortium lost its government funding, I took it as a sign to look for a role where I could use my clinical trial experience to make a direct difference for patients and families. That’s when I reached out to The CSN—and the rest is history!

What I do at CSN
As Research Support Coordinator, I support patients and families by addressing their questions about clinical research participation and providing ongoing follow-up and education tailored to their individual needs. I also coordinate grant applications, ensure compliance, and support communication and awareness initiatives to advance collaborative research efforts.

What I like most about my job
While I enjoy interacting with and supporting researchers around the world who are dedicated to finding a cure for pediatric brain cancer, what I love most is the opportunity to connect directly with patients and families. Being a resource and guide for them throughout their clinical trial experience is incredibly meaningful. I also love being part of a talented, passionate team, united by the shared goal to find cures for pediatric brain cancers.

What moment have you cherished most at CSN?
During my first team meeting, The CSN’s Director of Family Support and Outreach shared a few short bios that family members had submitted about new Warriors who are currently in the fight against brain cancer. Hearing their stories provided valuable perspective and reinforced for me, both the urgency and significance of The CSN’s mission.

Many people would be surprised if they knew I…
I have lived in eight states and traveled to nine countries! I love exploring new places and picking up bits and pieces of new languages, though English is the only language I am fluent in.

I have lived in California and throughout the Midwest and Southern parts of the United States. Most of my international adventures have been in Central and South America.
