Baylie Barclay Family Support Coordinator

Baylie Barclay, Family Support Coordinator

What brought you to CSN?
My journey to The Cure Starts Now began long before I ever imagined working here. In 2025, my son Paxton lost his 15-month battle with DIPG, a devastating pediatric brain cancer with no cure. Throughout our journey, I experienced firsthand the fear, heartbreak, and helplessness that so many families facing childhood brain cancer know all too well. After losing Paxton, I knew I wanted to find a way to honor his life and continue fighting for the families walking this road along with us. What brought me to CSN was the opportunity to turn our pain into purpose and be part of a mission working toward the homerun cure.

What I do at CSN
I serve as the Family Support Coordinator at The Cure Starts Now. In this role, I have the privilege of connecting with families impacted by pediatric brain cancer, offering support, resources, and a sense of community during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Having been in their shoes, I understand how overwhelming this journey can feel, and I hope to help families feel seen, supported, and reminded that they do not have to walk this path alone.

What I like most about my job
What I love most about my role is knowing that the work we do truly matters. I get to be part of an organization that is relentlessly fighting for better outcomes for children diagnosed with brain cancer while also supporting families in real and tangible ways. Being surrounded by a team so deeply committed to this mission makes the work incredibly meaningful.

What moment have you cherished most at CSN?
One of my favorite moments at The Cure Starts Now was coming to Cincinnati for Giving First and being surrounded by other families who knew exactly what I was feeling.

Many people would be surprised if they knew I…
Most people would be surprised to know that I love to refinish old furniture and turn something antique into something special.
