Anthony Franzini's family uses the grief of losing their son to create a legacy of cancer research for other kids like him.
Cincinnati, OH | January 23, 2020 — The Cure Starts Now Foundation has selected its 41st chapter in Port Orange, Florida in honor of Anthony Franzini who was diagnosed with DIPG in June of 2017. Anthony went through 6 weeks of radiation and chemo treatments, however that didn’t buy him much time. He earned his angel wings four short months after being diagnosed shortly after his 12th birthday. His family now continues the fight for Anthony by helping to fund DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) and DMG (diffuse midline glioma) cancer research through The Cure Starts Now.
"Anthony is our hero! He fought hard and has a strong faith – our hearts break daily but he still teaches us with his legacy of giving and love," says Jamie Franzini
The family is eager to start fundraising and honoring Anthony so they can help other children, like him, battle cancer and provide hope for the cure.
The Cure Starts Now (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a "homerun" cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric cancer may in fact provide us the critical first step in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult.
"Fight cancer LIKE A BOSS!" -Anthony Franzini
