LOCAL CHAPTER OF THE CURE STARTS NOW
CONTINUES THE FIGHT IN HONOR OF KATE ARPANO.

Ashburnham, MA | July 26, 2019 – The Central Massachusetts Chapter of The Cure Starts Now is hosting Kate's Shots & Shenanigans golf tournament Friday, September 6th, 2019, at the Westminster Golf and Country Club, Westminster MA. Proceeds from this first-time event – golf tournament and raffle – honor the memory of Kate Arpano.

Kate was an Ashburnham five-year-old who, in August of 2014, was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a fatal brain cancer with no effective treatment. She fought with bravery and strength for 17 months. Kate inspired many with her love for life and her compassion towards others. Kate loved being silly and playing jokes to make others laugh.

The Kate's Shots & Shenanigans 2019 golf tournament kicks-off at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 6. Shotgun start, 18 holes, cart fees, lunch on the course, and dinner are all included. Sponsorship opportunities to support the fundraising efforts to beat this bully of childhood cancers are available. Find more information at the event's page

This is a first-time fundraising event for The Central Massachusetts Chapter, formed in memory of Kate Arpano. The Cure Starts Now (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is dedicated to finding the Homerun Cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric brain cancer provide the initial steps in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult. Thanks to the efforts and support of individuals and companies around the world through events like Kate's Shots & Shenanigans, The Cure Starts Now has funded over $12 million in research grants.

If you’re interested in supporting Kate's Shots & Shenanigans, please check out sponsorship opportunities at the sponsorship page or reach out directly to Abigail Arpano at the Central Massachusetts chapter [email protected] .
