In honor and celebration of Kenley Castro
Kenley Rose was a caring, sassy, full of love and laughter little girl when her life was forever changed at the age of 7. February 23,2021 she was diagnosed with DIPG/DMG a rare brain cancer causing horrible headaches, nausea, and vomiting. She was quickly robbed of her ability to walk, talk, see, hear, and swallow food or drinks. She never gave up, through her faith in GOD she fought with strength and ambition to be herself again for a short while. She proved herself to be the strongest willed princess we have ever met.
Our smart girl, often referred to as an old soul, had the most contagious laugh causing everyone in the room to laugh! We never had a dull moment between caring for her baby dolls, watching her make Tik Toks, and caring for her animals. Kenley's dream was to be a veterinarian and a groomer. We would joke with her and tell her she already had a zoo! Kenley found joy in spending time with family and friends attending Rawhide Baseball games, camping, fishing, and beach trips. She was a natural born shopper!!! Kenley lost her battle August 13,2021, just shy of 6 months post diagnosis.
The Cure Starts Now (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric cancer may in fact provide us the critical first step in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult.
Ongoing Event Fundraisers
Caps for the Cure is a fun and easy way to raise much needed funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research. We are asking schools across the country to help us in this battle by allowing their students to wear a hat for the day to show their support for pediatric brain cancer research. In exchange for their ability to wear a hat for the day, students will donate $1.00 to The Cure Starts Now
