The Fitchburg Police Department, in partnership with the Fitchburg Police Department Relief Association, has joined the many police departments throughout the country by participating in the Pink Patch Project. Throughout October, Fitchburg police patches will be changed to pink on uniform shirts to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as all forms of cancer, including pediatric brain cancer. This year proceeds from the patches benefit The Cure Starts Now to fund pediatric brain cancer research and the Homerun cure.
