Our daughter Ryleigh was diagnosed with brain stem glioma, type unknown. Because they were not able to biopsy the tumor because of where it’s located, they are not able to determine the exact type. So, we were limited with treatment options. She has undergone 2 different surgeries due to hydrocephalus, caused by the brain tumors located in the midbrain section of her brain. We were told she may never walk again, talk, and do all the normal things a toddler would continue to do at her age. She has beat those odds so far, and is doing well today. With only MRI follow up appointments to watch the brain tumor.
