Maddox is 3 years old, he loves his dog Shadow, his sissy’s and of course his mom and dad. He thinks it’s pretty silly to call everybody a “Goofy G”. He’s loving, ornery and makes his presence known, usually in the form of a dinosaur RAWR. 

About 7 months ago, Maddox started complaining of his head hurting, he was wobbling into stuff more than normal and his headaches became a daily occurrence. 

Maddox saw his pediatrician and they referred him to Neurology and scheduled him for an MRI. 

Maddox saw Neurology and they agreed they wanted some imaging to rule out the “scary stuff”. 

Maddox went in for his MRI and unfortunately, what they wanted to rule out quickly became a reality. 

They found a tumor in his brain which pathology has confirmed to be a Stage 4 Medulloblastoma. Molecular testing confirmed he is in the most dangerous subtype but his cancer was caught very early.  

Maddox starts Chemotherapy on Tuesday and will undergo 6 cycles of chemo consuming most of his year with very long extensive hospital stays. In addition to the medicine itself and the side effects we all think of with chemo like hair loss and nausea and vomiting. He is also at high risk for hearing loss, malnourishment, skin reactions, bladder infections and more. 

He has a long journey ahead of him but an amazing support system by his side!
