Luca was diagnosed just after turning 1. A trip to his pediatrician for a well child visit showed a spike in his head circumference and the pediatrician recommended heading to the emergency room for a CT and possible MRI. His head CT showed a 4cm mass in the middle of his brain causing a plethora of issues. He was sent into surgery 2 days later. Afterwards pathology revealed Luca had a stage 4 cancer, Medulloblastoma subgroup 3. He was immediately placed into 3 rounds of high dose chemo and 3 rounds of stem cell transplants. When Luca was admitted for his last round he became extremely sick and it was found he had a very serious infection in his port and his picc lines. The decision was made to immediately remove all access lines and to conclude treatment. Luca rang the bell in April of 2023 and has had stable scans since. Throughout treatment Luca learned to walk, continued gaining weight amd eating, and was the strongest little boy with the biggest smiles each day. We are truly in awe of how well Luca triumphed through treatment and has continued to grow each day. He now has 1 year of clear scans and a new diagnosis of Autism. He doesn't let anything keep him down and has continued to defy odds throug his many therapies. We are so proud to of Luca and look forward to a happy healthy and hopefully 100% cancer free future.
