The Cure Starts Now's Tribute Funds

Bailey Silverman's Tribute Fund

Bailey had a couple headaches and the third headache we took her to the hospital where they did a CT and found a large tumor. She was taken by ambulance to Shands in Gainesville where they did an MRI then removed the tumor. Pathology took about 5 weeks to come back and the results were Anaplastic Ependymoma with ZFTA fusion.  The only treatment plan for ependymomas is surgery and then radiation, so she was scheduled for 30 days of proton radiation. The week stay at the hospital really really traumatized Bailey and she was so scared of everything after that. When she started at UF Proton Therapy she was so scared but the staff there turned Bailey’s time around. She dressed up as Spider-Man her first day and then we just let her wear a new costume each day. They also let her jam out to a song on her bed ride to the radiation room so that really helped. Tomorrow is her last day of radiation! (We are soo busy right now but could definitely become ambassadors in the future once we get through all of her appointments after treatment ends) 💕
