Alexa was diagnosed with DIPG in April of 2020 after experiencing left sided weakness and double vision. She has been able to use her diagnosis to advocate for other adults with DIPG through Club 22. Throughout her diagnosis and treatment she has stayed positive and focused on her family. Alexa relies on humor and crossing things off her bucket list to get her through the tough times. Despite her physical deficits she has been able to continue enjoying her favorite hobbies, knitting, quilting, and running.
