Adelia was diagnosed with thalamic DMG on 2/27/2023 and had emergency surgery. She recovered extremely well from surgery, and amazed the doctors by being discharged home early. She breezed through 33 treatments of radiation, and went to school full days the entire time. She just started ONC201 from Germany two weeks ago and is tolerating it well. We had her 4 week post-radiation scan on Friday and her team of doctors is not sure whether there is some disease progression, or if what they are seeing is inflammation and scarring from radiation. She has no symptoms right now and is continuing life as much as possible as a normal kiddo, so we are praying it's just the radiation.

Adelia is a fighter, she has shown nothing but resilience, strength and determination to beat this monster. She is an old soul and tells jokes and one-liners that send a room into a fit of laughter. She is creative, loves to craft, paint, and play her violin. Her appetite for reading and spelling is insatiable, and she is the most caring, kind, and thoughtful friend and big sister.
